Large steelworks plant. On July 29th 2005, as a result of a closure programme mutually agreed and undersigned by Rivagroup and both national and local institutions, the entire integral production cycle of ILVA GENOVA works - the coke-batteries, the blast furnace and continuous casting machines - was halted for good for environmental reasons. A major financial investment of over 775 million euros to be implemented in five years time will enhance the capacity of cold steel production and preserve the level of workforce employed.
