Tata Steel Europe is the European operations of the Tata Steel Group and is the second largest steel producer in Europe. Tata Steel Europe operates this large integrated steelmaking factory located in Ijmuiden. It was formerly known as Koninklijke Hoogovens. Corus was formed after the 1999 merger between British Steel and Hoogovens, and then Corus was purchased by Tata Steel in 2007.
