In Arabic (Al-Khaldiyah), Named after sheikh Khalid Abdullah Al-Salem, son of H.H. sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah ( 11th Prince of Kuwait, 1950-1965 ), brother of the previous prince of Kuwait sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah ( 14th Prince of Kuwait ).
Sheikh Khalid was the first who settled in this area, built a palace and a farm and that was the core of Al-Khaldiyah area. Later on he dedicated his farm for building a Girls Club, in a step of encouraging young women to learn and educate. The area itself is famous for "Khaldiyah Girls Club", "ًWomen Cultural Society" and mostly Kuwait University Campuses of "Science Collage" and "Engineering & Petroleum Collage".
