Apex is tallest point in Lexington. It is in the divided between the Mystic River watershed and the Merrimac River watershed.

There is a public access at 36 Summer St, Lexington. It looks like a private driveway (because someone took down the sign) but it is actually a public access with three parking places. There is also public access at the Lexington/Winchester town line, at the top of the hill where Winchester Street (Lexington) becomes Johnson Road (Winchester) across from the intersection with Birkshire Drive.

  • Good place to walk. There are lots of trails. The top of Whipple Hill has a view to Boston and the ocean as well as up into southern New Hampshire.
