Vellari mala peak - 2240m (Highest point in Wayanad district)

Vellari Mala is located at the junction of Wayanad, Kozhikode and Malappuram districts and is the highest peak in Wayanad District of Kerala. Situated at an altitude of 2,240 m, it is an ideal picnic spot for people of all age group. This verdant, rolling landscape is dotted with numerous brooks and breathtaking waterfalls.
Vellari Mala is also a perfect location for trekking that starts from a waterfall and pass through lush green forest. River Kanjirapuzha, a tributary of the River Chaliyar, flowing through this rocky terrain creates breathtaking waterfalls at many points. The Glass Temple of Koottamunda, situated on the slopes of this peak, is about 20 km from Kalpetta, the district headquarters.
