Lieutenant general Nitin Kohli, during his recent visit to the the 2 Signal training center's base in Bambolim, unveiled the statue of the Bharatiya Sainik. "This statue represents the Indian soldier, the way he is self-contained in his communication requirements," he said. Erected on the traffic island before the military station's entry gates, the statue portrays a soldier dressed in the conventional Indian army attire making a communication call. The newly established cyber-training laboratory at the Bambolim military station was also inaugurated.
Kohli also shared his thoughts on prime minister Narendra Modi's make in India campaign and the latest tactics incorporated in defense. "We keep updating ourselves as technology is changing and new means of communication are coming up. We must keep adapting so that we can absorb the technology and our soldiers can be well-trained in doing their task. Make in India is a priority so that we can finally have chips and various systems being made here in the country," he said.
