Jadh Ganga's magnificent narrow gorge

The walk towards Neelang from Bhaironghati bridge till the mid 90s was through majestic firs and terrifying gorges. This picture was taken in June 1985 when we followed Heinrich Harrer's escape route over the Thaga La (5030 m).

At a couple of places there were wooden bridges embedded into unmanageable steep rock faces.
