The name Hindusthan More (more means crossroads or road junction in Bengali) probably comes from the old Hindusthan Tools factory which was once located here. There used to be a large tree back in the 90s but they cut it down to widen the entry to Garia Gardens area. The road heading inwards into Garia Gardens area lead to Fartabad and Mahamayapur rural communities. Increasingly, new buildings and business establishments have mushroomed in this once sleepy little corner south of the city.
