House of Soviets (Saint Petersburg)

This building was founded in 1939, before the WWII, as part of the plan of moving the city centre further from the border with Finland. But, it left unfinished and was used by the Soviet military during the war. After the war is was finished and made an academic institution.
Nowadays it`s beautiful interior is spoiled by dividing it into parts which are rented by offices.
