Named in 1890. by the name of the landlord. In the 1910's. street ran from the Neva to the modern Babushkina str.

In the years 1937-40. built up part of the street from the square in front of Volodarsky bridge to Sedova street. There appeared a single band of 8 homes, designed by I. Fomin, Y.A. Levinson and SI Yevdokimov. Thus Ivanovo became the only effected before the war "land" segment arc line.

The monumental six-storey residential buildings in the style of Stalin's Empire style with porticos of the slender four-pylon, were crowned with two-story loggia. In 2001 these houses were considered objects of cultural heritage and KGIOP included in the list of newly identified sites of historical, scientific, artistic or other cultural value.
