This small hill has blocked the flow of River Mahanadi on the right side of the river.In the
past a small tributary was flowing beside villages Pandarasingha and Balaram Prasad.The tributary is blocked between the two villages,at Balaram Prasad(Akurabandha) so that connection with the villages towards north is possible.The flow of water of River Mahanadi is directed towards Baneswar Nasi from the northen side of the hill at paturia.
