  • A correction of the misleading title 'landfill' This was once a sand quarry. It was allowed to be landfilled to restore the green-belt horizon of grazed downland to the town by 2015. Unfortunately Biffa got the planning permission for the restoration, so the plot has been milked for maximum profit, instead of the contracted restoration ever since. The site is currently being 'surcharged' with rubbish to form a new hill above the town, that can be filled up to 2026. The top of the site now had the addition of a platform to host the largest contaminated soil processing plant in the SE. The top of the landfill now has the addition of Biffa's building-rubble processing plant. That planning permission agreed, this would be done off-site.
  • Correction, Biffa's current consent for the use of the site, is to 2036
