Netaji subhas vidyaniketan is an eminent higher secondary school of Agartala,named after the prominent freedom fighter and nationalist Subhas Chandre Bose.Established in 1948,primarily for the education of the sons and daughters of the refugees who came to the town of Agartala from earstwhile East Pakistan(now Bangladesh)after the partition of India.Initially it was started as a secondary school.The first head-master was eminent educationalist, Sri Satinath Bharadwaj.The medium of instruction is bengali.The school reached its zeneth of success under the able leadership of prominent educationalist and freedom-fighter, Sri Hirendranath Nandi(recipient of President's award for being a model teacher). The school has produced many notable students.The school is renowned for its strict discipline and high level of education.
