The ‘Powder Metallurgy’ facility is a modern Russian producer of powders, pigment and pyrotechnic aluminium dust. Its total annual production volume is 19,000 metric tonnes, accounting for market share of 65% domestically and 5% of the global market.
The facility supplies 48% of products to customers in the domestic market, and 52% are exported.

Powder Metallurgy Ltd. was established in 1998 when the powder metallurgy operation was established as a separate division from the Irkutsk aluminium smelter. The facility began operations in 1976 when the powder metallurgy shop was constructed by the Russian National Aluminium and Magnesium Institute (VAMI), which is located in St. Petersburg.
The production facility is located in the industrial zone of Shelekhov, 20 kilometres from Irkutsk, near large transportation hubs. The ‘Powder metallurgy’ production facility has branches in Krasnoturyinsk (Sverdlovsk Region) and in Volgograd. Total headcount is 700 people.
