The station opened on November 3, 1967

Ground station lobby is made by architects, AS Getskin and VP Shuvalova and integrated into the building of the Moscow Hotel. At first, the passengers fall into the round corridor on each side of which are cash, and then located inside the escalator hall with a domed ceiling. Inside the lobby is decorated with Estonian dolomite, Chernov marble, ceramic tiles and wood. In 2008 the lobby was open transition in Moskva trading centre.
