  • I found this: http://www.googleearthhacks.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-7929.html "This appears to be located on the training grounds of CFB Suffield. The base is a multi-purpose area hosting DRDC Suffield and BATUS (the chief training facility for mechanized operations for the entire British Army), while also being designated a wildlife preserve and used as range land for prairie farmers."
  • This is ground zero for some of the, if not the largest conventional explosives tests ever performed. A few of them were the SNOWBALL, PRAIRIE FLAT and DIAL PACK events from the MIDDLE NORTH series of tests in the early 70's, roughly 500t of explosives each, perfomed by various Canadian and US military and civilian organizations.
  • Forgot to mention, the true center is about 1000meters North (up) of this mark, you may have zoom in a bit to see the close inner rings, they're near worn out.
  • this was the center (a few hundred meters north of this spot), of where they would test different rockets.
  • I forgot to mention the site of where they had the largest non-nuclear planned explosion in history its 30km or so east of this spot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CFB_Suffield
  • It was created as chemical and biological weapons testing range. I guess, it is field for studying of distribution of weapons components by air.
