Offices and freight terminal for CSX Transportation in Apex, NC. Formerly built by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad Company. In the 1900-1950 time frame the building served as a general freight depot for the area. During that era trains passing through town were pulled by coal powered locomotives. Now the depot is used only for a local office and repair center for CSX and as a place to park diesel engines at night that support area freight traffic.
