This Mission style home was constructed for Lederer between 1934 and the early 1940s from native rock on his former 300-acre ranch. The also-landmarked Mission style stable liocated across the street wa a part of the ranch and built in 1936.

Lederer, who passed away in 2000 at the age of 100, was a veteran of WWI and a star of stage and screen. In 1929, he performed as Alwa Schön, Dr. Ludwig Schön's son, in G.W. Pabst's Pandora's Box with Louise Brooks. The home is still owned by the Lederer family.
