Passionist Monastery (Моricone)

Passionist Monastery, founded by St. Joseph Calasanz, was the first of the Benedictines, then Piarist 1610 to 1732, then the Least Religious of St. Francesco di Paola until 1807, when abandoned, was entrusted by the Holy See at the Diocesan Curia. Convent and the French invaders confiscated goods and sold them in 1810. Sabine then returned to the Diocesan Curia and remained abandoned until 1836. Clergy and civil authorities then asked the Cardinal Odescalchi there did come the passions, such as esteem and confidence because it was well known as a zealous missionaries and spiritual directors. In the church housing the remains of Blessed Bernard Silvestrelli, beatified in 1988, now a place of pilgrimage.
