This parking lot partially occupies the former site of the Hangar Building. It was originally constructed as an air force training facility at Dafoe, Saskatchewan during World War II. It was dismantled and completely reassembled on campus by January, 1947. Intended to provide temporary teaching space for the Department of Household Science, it housed a variety of occupants for 46 years. The Drama Department used the structure as its "temporary" home and the performance venue for Greystone Theatre for over 25 years, even after it had been technically condemned. The department finally moved into the renovated John Mitchell Building in 1993. The dilapdated Hangar Building, now unoccupied, was demolished in 1994.
