  Sakow in the Somali Civil War (2006) Sakow was taken by the Islamic Courts on October, 26, 2006 after a series of battles with the Juba Valley Alliance (JVA). It was re-taken by the Transitional Federal Government (TFG), which had absorbed the JVA, on December 27, 2006.
