Ranomafana National Park

Its isolation and extremely rugged terrain kept it from major exploitation until the National government was able to make it its fourth National Park. The word Ranomafana derives from a term for hot water. An explorer found a natural hot springs and the French made a spa there.
The soil is of very poor quality causing slow tree growth and less fruit is created.
