Tamanduateí Train Station (São Paulo)

Brazil / Sao Paulo / Sao Caetano do Sul / São Paulo / Avenida Presidente Wilson
 train station, metro station

CPTM's Tamanduateí Train Station (Behind Central Plaza Shopping). The old name was 'Parada Vemag', Vemag Stop. The 'Parada Vemag' began work at 1955 for the Santos-Jundiaí Railways. Today it belongs to CPTM. This station was near an old industry called VEMAG - from "VEículos e Maquinas AGrícolas" - the portuguese words for vehicles and agricultural machineries, that was later bought by Volkswagen. The original railway was built at the 19th century along the Tamanduateí river, but the name was given to the station just for the last few decades.
