Nazis buried dead Soviet soldiers in the shell crater of super cannon Karl in July 1941. Enthusiasts managed to discover the location of the crater to excavate the bodies of the Soviet soldiers. In November 2011, the bodies were at last reburied into the burial grounds of the War Memorial.
