  • The Gables is a great place to live. Great pool. Single everywhere.
  • The Gables is a nice place, but the condos are a little small for the money. The kitchens are tiny, barely enough room for 1 person, and have no counter space for meal prep. I don't know how old the units are, but they're beginning to show signs of wear (cracks between the wall and floors, cracks between walls and countertops). But the neighborhood is nice and relatively safe (as of March 2008) and quiet (if you don't count the late-night/early-morning drag racing on Tuckerman Lane), and very pet-friendly (almost everyone has a dog or cat), which makes me very happy. It's also very convenient (walkable) to the Metro and to Rockville Pike. But you will need a car; bus service during the week is OK (stops at 7:20 pm), but on weekends, there is NONE.
