The Lawrence School, Lovedale

One of the oldest schools in India, it was established in 1858 as the Lawrence Memorial Asylum as a home for children of British soldiers. The school was founded in memory of Sir Henry Lawrence. The school is now run by The Lawrence School Society, an autonomous board working under the aegis of the Government of India. Many of the school buildings are heritage buildings. The campus sprawls over 700 acres.
