Sparrows Point High School is a comprehensive high school for students in grades 9 - 12, and Sparrows Point Middle School provides for grades 6 - 7. The high school was established in 1908. The 35-acre campus is located on a peninsula which juts out into the Chesapeake Bay. The high school hosts two special programs: SPECIES (Sparrows Point Educational Center in Environmental Studies) and Sollers Point Technical High School. The high school's athletic program is home to the "Pointers."
