  This place smells terrible. Even worse, it is the residents downwind of the prevailing winds who have to suffer. And they (Brent Run and Montrose township government officials) want to expand it? From reading the Montrose Township meeting minutes, I am under the impression Montrose Township receives money which is deposited in the "Impact Fund". They can spend this on what they feel benefits the most residents. Brent Run has the local government in its back pocket! Yet most of the residents "impacted" by this place (again, downwind of prevailing winds) live in a different township. Those same affected residents can't vote in the township where the landfill is located and where the decisions are made. The downwind residents receive nothing but the smell and heavy amounts of traffic hauling the CANADIAN trash in. Don't let them expand this site. They want to nearly double it. They said they were installing extra methane extraction equipment to combat the smell by Dec. 2011. My nose tells me differently! As if home values have not taken a big enough hit. If they want to expand it, locate it west of Montrose/Montrose township or in the back yards of the township board members. Contact your local government officials to escalate this and put an end to the Brent Run expansion at its existing property!
