Wildey Theater

Since showing "The Big Chill" on March 8, 1984, the Wildey has been closed. Bought by the city of Edwardsville in 1999, the City Council has now decided to renovate and reopen the theater which first debuted in 1909. Reopening could be by late 2010.
Built at a cost of $30,000 by a group of local investors, the three-story building served as an Odd Fellows lodge, opera house and community center, hosting vaudeville shows, school plays and dance recitals. The lavishly decorated auditorium seated 1,150.
