Wadi Qadisha has been inhabited mainly by monks since early christianity. Classified as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO: whc.unesco.org/en/list/850
There are four main monastic complexes:

The Monastery of St Anthony of Qozhaya
The Monastery of Our Lady of Hawqa
The Monastery of Mar Lishaa
The Monastery of Mar Sarkis, Ehden
