'Matir Masjid' means 'Mosque made of Mud'. The Muslim prayer hall here was originally made of mud. With increase of habitat around, the importance of the Masjid increased and it was upgraded to four-storied masonry structure with mosaic floors. The mosque is still developing through local patronage and contribution. On Fridays Juma prayer, the Masjid overflows with devotees.
