Levuka, Fiji's former capital, is located on the east coast of Ovalau Island, in the Lomaiviti archipelago. It is one of three ports of entry to Fiji, the others being Suva and Lautoka.
Inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013 as "Levuka Historical Port Town"
The town and its low line of buildings set among coconut and mango trees along the beach front was the first colonial capital of Fiji, ceded to the British in 1874.
