Village Băcel belongs to the Commune Chichiş and is located at the confluence of the rivers Târlung and Negru, at the Braşov-Covasna County limits.

Following tradition says that after 1700, some shepherd named Lungu, coming from the lands sacelene (now city Sacele) in Brasov, guarding sheep and finding good reed and grass pasture, the flock is determined to there. They make a hut and brings himself and family near. Sons and daughters married, establishing each of them a household, dealing with sheep and cattle. The settlement of shepherds bore such names Bacitelec (hamlet Baciului). After 1918, settlement was named Bacel. Of church documents show that in 1829, belonged to the parish Filia Bacitalaului Chichis and have the following heads of families: John Colt, Elijah Sauce, Sauce Nicholas, David Minolan, Theodore Cimpoieş, John Virag, Demetrius Cimpoieş, Simon Cimpoieş. In 1835, the city appears as the Luncasi or Baci Teleac, with 9 families with 48 souls.
In 1893, the Orthodox community is a subsidiary of the parish Dobarlau, is composed of 86 families with 411 souls, of which 216 men and 195 women. The Great Union of December 1, 1918 was attended, among thousands of Romanians gathered in Alba Iulia, and next
parishioner Bacel: George Yuga, called "Santa on the meadow", George Coman 19 years, George Vlad for 23 years. The delegation was led by George Coman, everyone was dressed in peasant garb to celebrate.
