Premanand Sahitya Bhavan, situated in Dandia Bazar area, just next to Aurobindo Ashram was earlier known as Gujarati Sahitya Sabha in 1916, which was later renamed on 1st January 1944.

The founders of these great Sahitya Hall were Manibhai Nabhubhai Trivedi, Manishankar Bhatt, Harshad Dhruv, Upendracharya & Abbas Taiyabji, who were inspired from the Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad. The Bhavan was established on 11 November 1916.

This bhavan is now used for programs like Essay competition, honoring of creators, literature’s Birth & Death anniversary etc.
