Pembroke College, founded in 1891, was a women's school associated with Brown University. Pembroke merged with Brown in 1971, and is now home to numerous student dorms (especially freshman), as well as academic and administrative buildings. Pembroke Campus is one of three campus concentrations within the Brown University lands, the others being the main Brown campus (centered around the Main Green and including Wriston, New Dorm, and Grad Center) and the Perkins/Young Orchard campus, which was once Bryant University (before merging with Brown in 1969).
