Upper Montclair Railway Station

The original station was a small building, built by the Montclair Railway when the Upper Montclair area was still rural. It was acquired by the Erie Railroad and rebuilt in 1892. The 1892 structure, damaged by fire in 2006, has been rebuilt (2009) using the remaining Porte-cochere. The reconstructed building closely resembles the original design, but is larger and also accommodates a restaurant. On the westbound platform there was a shelter, but only its columns survive. A former freight house can still be found across Lorraine Avenue from the station.
