Location: It is located in Karad Tehsil (Satara district), just 11 KM away (towards west) from Karad (On Karad-Chiplun road).
Brief about the place:
It's location resembles scoop of ice cream in waffle cone - means- on northern side, we have Vasantgad fort, on South great Koyna River, on West- a hill (commonly known as pirachi khadi or tekdi) and on the east side we have lush green farms as well as the ‘odha’ (natural canal- originates from mid region of vasatgad fort.
The place is typical example of developing villages in India. If you compare, Sakrurdi in 1990’s and Sakurdi after 2010- there is tremendous improvement in terms of roads, houses, vehicles, standard of living as well as awareness about the education. The only good thing which has not changed is the kindness, loyalty and true love in the villagers.
The main source of income is still farming (especially, sugar cane, rice and ground-nut) but most of the young crowd moved to nearby metro cities like Mumbai and Pune for career.
