The place was previously famous as CHANDI WALI KOTHI which housed a famous and big jewelery shop being run by some British people. The building was purchased and rebuilt by three family members (two sons and a nephew-Sh Jagat Ram) of Lala Kishori Lal Bhagra. He started residing here with his family in the year early sixties. It is one of the most imposing houses on the Mall. It is understood that the present owners of the building are Sh Romesh Bhagra and Sh Sudesh Bhagra two of the sons of Late Shri Kishori Lal Bhagra. The other sons of Lala Kishori Lal Bhagra live here in a status of being tenants of the land lord brothers. The third owner Lala Jagat Ram (Late) and his family got the adjacent mansion named as KISHORE BHAWAN as a result of some family arrangement.
