Heidelberg is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 12 km north-east from Melbourne's central business district. Its Local Government Area is the City of Banyule. At the 2006 Census, Heidelberg had a population of 5249.

The "Heidelberg Road Trust" was established in 1841 and became the first form of local government in Victoria. Heidelberg was proclaimed a shire in 1871 and a city in 1934.
