  • Well, not everybody at Sequanota club is "Rich". By saying that "rich people live here" might give people viewing this page the idea that they're all snooty pricks... which isn't the case. While a lot of the folks that own residence at Sequanota are well off, there is a small populations of moderate income individuals.
  • My grandparents built and owned a cottage here from the early part of the last century until 1990 or so when my uncle sold it. Northgate at the far end of the residences. Most of the homes were owned by ministers, teachers of theology, and other folks who gave a good deal of their time, energy and money to helping others. There were also business people and medical professionals. The people then were the furthest thing from rich Pr____ imaginable. I have wonderful memories of growing up here with my gradparents and Dr and Mrs George Butterick- one of the most eminent theologians of the last century. I have no idea who owns the houses now- but know better than to categorize people . FFT
  • What an ignorant thing to say... shows a lack of historical understanding. My grandparents, too, owned a cottage at Sequanota from the turn of the last century until 1964. My grandfather was a minister, never owned his own home (lived in a manse in St. Louis), and never put money at the center of anything. The members (and founders) of the club were teachers and ministers, primarily.
  • i have read some of the history on how this area was created. these quality folks had vision and insight and made every effort to protect their community from the likes of those capable of posting such ignorant public comments, or worse, those who would have the nads to impose ridiculous rules to govern their community. well done! enjoy and prosper.
  • While it may rub residence the wrong way, Mr. Wilson has a point. The vast majority of Americans cannot own a second home/cottage. Hence, while the residence might be altruistic they are, compared to most Americans, rich. Owning waterfront property is not affordable, especially so on lake Chalevoix.
  • First of all, maybe you should learn how to use the English language (as in residence). Secondly, most of the cottages have been in the same families, in one way or another, since the club began. Rich or not, Sequanota was not founded nor was it based on money. Do some needed research, please. third generation RESIDENT
  • I enjoyed the brief time I spent at Sequanota staying in my step-father`s cottage. I am from Macomb Illinois, and there were about four old time familes from Macomb there.
  • I grew up in Macomb and also spent time at Sequanota during the early 50's. Who is your step-father? Bob Rudolph was in my class. My family were friends of the Rudolphs, the Ewings, the Wynes etc. My last name was Andrews.
