  • Overdevelopment and over-commercialization of this site threatens its fragile history and environment. It is the site of the Whitefish Point National Wildlife Refuge, a migratory route of world significance for raptors, waterbirds, and songbirds. It is the best place in North American to observe the Saw-whet Owl. The Whitefish Point Bird Observatory, an affiliate of the Michigan Audubon Society, operates an educational and research facility at Whitefish Point.
  • Overdevelopment and over-commercialization? Seriously? I mean, I'm all for conservation, but look at the map. There is, literally, nothing around for miles and miles.
