The Town of Gibbons, part of the Northeast sector of the Edmonton sub region, has an exceptionally favorable geographic location, situated along the valley of the Sturgeon River.

Highways 28, 28A and 15 provide Gibbons with access to the City of Edmonton or Fort Saskatchewan. The northward extension of Highway 28 connects Gibbons with Redwater, Smoky Lake, Bonnyville, Grand Centre, Cold Lake and Fort McMurray.
