Guajrat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences has started its medical college from the academic year 2009-10 to admit 150 students per year. It is in the campus of G K General Hospital, which was rebuilt after the devasting earthquake of 2001 at the cost of about 130 crores rupees ($ 30 million dollars)The design of the Hospital is unique one. It can resist an earthquake of over 9 .This hospital is built in such a way that in future, if any earthquake occures, the hospital can accomodate 1000 beds if required.
