Llenroc (Ithaca, New York)

Perhaps regarded as Ithaca's finest residence, it is an outstanding and exceptionally well-preserved example of high style masonry Gothic Revival architecture. The elegant mansion known as Llenroc ("Cornell" spelled backwards) is the last existing building associated with the personal life of Ezra Cornell.

Llenroc, above whose main entry way is carved "True and Firm", remained in the Cornell family's possession until 1911, when the house was purchased from the family by the Delta Phi fraternity. The brothers of Delta Phi at Cornell University still reside there today and make regular reference to Mr. Cornell's motto.

The building and grounds sit adjacent to such landmarks as the Morgan Smiley Baldwin Memorial Staircase, the Ithaca City Cemetery, the former site of Red Bud Woods and near Cornell University's West Campus.
