This lake is not used as part of the CRD water system due to algae bloom problems in the past and is quarantined from Sooke Lake Reservoir. It is now entirely used to provide water to the Sooke River for salmon spawning as part of the agreement signed with the T’Sooke First Nation. Supplementary water is provided from the Sooke Lake when needed to maintain minimum river levels.
