Six major metallurgical plants, one fertilizer plant and two specialty metal plants are included in Zinc Operations. The plants produce zinc, cadmium, indium, germanium oxide, sulphur, liquid sulphur dioxide, sulphuric acid, and ammonium phosphate fertilizer.
Residues are sent to Lead Operations for additional metals recovery, while fume from the Lead Operations' slag fuming furnaces are returned to Zinc Operations for recovery of zinc and other contained metals.
