The hospital opened in 1958 at a cost of over $6,000,000 and was named in honor of the late Major General Joseph I. Martin, Medical Corps. A 59,000-square-foot ambulatory care wing was added in 1975, and in 1990, the emergency room underwent renovations. Daily, the hospital provides inpatient care to approximately 100 patients and averages over 2,000 outpatient visits. Within the hospital’s ten floors are six patient wards, an extensive surgical suite with same-day capabilities, a labor and delivery suite, and over 30 outpatient clinics. The hospital maintains a fully-accredited laboratory service, an extensive pharmacy service, and diagnostic radiology with CT and nuclear medicine.

  • I was born in Martin Army Community Hospital on March 12, 1995 at 6:15 in the morning. My mom was a captain and she is now a Lieutenant Colonel her name is Melody Smith. I love Fort Benning so much I am thinking about joining the Army.
