The bridge is named after the building, or in railroad terms, tower, that sits next to it.
It connects MBTA north side commuter rail trains to North Station via four tracks.
The bridge operator, or bridge tender, operates the bridge from the office on the second floor. Boats may request an opening via horn, phone or channel 13. Bridge is closed Monday thru Friday from 6:15 am to 9:10 am and from 4:15 pm to 6:30 pm (with the exception of police, fire and Coast Guard emergencies)
