As a blast that takes you to another dimension of entertainment, Moynihans is the latest and trendiest word in Madeiran social leisure. No arguments. No discussions. No debates. Don´t question it - just accept it. The lyric count stand as the summary of the story behind Moynihans. It started ten years ago, when Tadhg and Sinead were visiting Madeira. "We fell in love with the island", remembers the fun-loving hostess. "We kept coming back for visits and found it harder and harder to leave. Three years later we bought a house, Tadhg took a position as Captain in the Palheiro Golf and, well, here we are!" Indeed - and they are here to stay. Make no mistakes about the bar. It is not your typical expat hangout. It is not where you go when nothing else is open. It is a professional establishment, open to everyone and the people who run it know very well what they are doeing. When they first met in Cambridge, the owners had six pubs between them. Not two, not three - six! Anybody askeing why? "it´s what we do best. it´s what we are good at. It is our business: we are Publicans" says Sinead. She is right. And whoever came up with tha word -"Publicans" must have had the Moynihans in mind. They sing, laugh and cruise the floor of the pub with a warm familiarity that make your first visit there as intimidating as Sunday lunch... at your own place. Nobody´s a stranger in there - just friends that you haven´t met yet.
