This Atlanta cemetery contains a surprising number of pioneer families for how far out it is. Plaster, Cheshire, Todd, Johnson, Jett, Collier, etc.

Atlanta area's longest serving congregation meeting in its original location. Services began at this spot in 1812. Continuously held here ever since. Church and cemetery appear in Civil War era maps of the area. Union troops encamped in the vicinity early July 1864. Wartime church was spared from Sherman's torch, but was destroyed by a tornado in 1875. Current building dates from 1900 or so.
